Welcome to Mary Anne Radmacher's blog.

One way to get to know a person you've just met is to ask them to tell you about their favorite friends. It's said that a person essentially becomes an aggregate of the five people with whom they spend the most time.

There's another telling question to ask a stranger. It's all about a book.

1) Is there one book that you have re-read and will read again (and again)?
2) What is the most recent book that you've read and what stands out to you most?
3) What is the title of a book you recommend most often to friends?
4) What was the last book you read that made you so sad when it came to the end? (Because you wanted to keep on reading, not because the ending was sad!).

If the person you are just getting to know has never re-read a book, can't remember what stood out from the last book they read, doesn't recommend books to friends and has never felt sad to stop reading an excellent book...

I suggest that you stop conversing with them. And, perhaps, run. Kidding (not kidding). Perhaps you might consider striking up a conversation with someone else that you might want to get to know. AND start THAT conversation off by recommending a book you've recently read...

January offers three different writing options. I’m excited to introduce two fine, inspiring writers to you – Caren and Ellen. The first two phraseologists! Each has been training with me in the Focus Phrase process for months and participating in it for two years. If you’ve benefitted from a Focus Phrase process with me – you will enjoy having the process with a different voice responding to your writing. If you are stepping in for the first time, you have a choice of voice to guide you in this compelling and insightful process.

I am leading a very small band of explorers in a premier, personally demanding process called, Promises to Myself. Details follow my two important introductions. Here’s Ellen Out Loud!

Learning to Live Out Loud. Do you have something to say? I believe we all do – something unique to us that we were born to convey. It’s taken me a long time time to find my voice – to live out loud – though the voice was always there waiting to be heard.

For me, I’m heard best through my writing. It would not surprise me if the earliest photos of me captured a fountain pen in my crib! Writing is my most genuine means of expression – how I convey who I am and what I am – it’s where I first learned to hear my own voice. I translate that expression into all facets of my life.

I’ve always found that January is a great month to launch new projects, dream great dreams, and jumpstart my life! “Lean Forward Into Your Life" is our January 2010 course offering and features phrases from Mary Anne Radmacher's book of the same title (Conari Press)

· Class begins on January 4 - January 29
Enrollment is $149.00

This would be a tremendous way to heed Ms. Radmacher’s advice, and: "Begin each day as if it were on purpose."

To reserve your spot, ask questions or add your name to my mailing list, email me at

“ELLENOUTLOUD - Ellen Cunningham Lambert is a remarkable voice. She
is funny, pointed, charming, wildly supportive
and has energetic, positive observations on your writing. She re-
wrote many pages of her life using the very focus phrase
process that she will walk with you through. She rocks. (And she's
paper and scissors, too. after all, she's ELLENOUTLOUD.) “

And here is Caren Albers process:

" Lean Forward Into Your Life" features phrases from
Mary Anne Radmacher's book of the same title (Conari Press) January is a perfect time to begin creating a year that supports and encourages your dreams. As Mary Anne's book suggests "Begin each day as if it were on purpose."

Class begins on January 4 - January 29.
Enrollment is $149.00

To reserve your spot, ask questions, learn more or add your name to my mailing list email me. Jump-start your dream!

Caren Albers WILL Inspire You.

She is engaging and enthusiastic yet her inspirations come quietly with clear certainty. Like her name, she is caring for you. Her thoughtful consideration of your words leaves the writer feeling that without a doubt "YES, SHE HEARD ME."

She's adept at pointing out patterns in your writing and suggesting inspiring resources to explore. She invited some of her strongest qualities to come out and play using the focus phrase process. Just as I encouraged her to "LET WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY SHINE," as your guide, she will offer you the same invitation.

Focus Phrase classes are four week sessions.

Focus Phrase writing is Monday - Friday with weekends off.

You receive and write daily on a Focus Phrase chosen specifically for the class that you are participating in.

When you receive a phrase, we ask that you write it down and carry it with you into your day using it as a lens through which you view the events of that day.

At the end of your day, send a three paragraph writing about your observations and experience with the phrase. Did you learn something new about yourself or your world? What lessons did it offer? Did it remind you of something you already know?

Observe, focus, clarify, invite your inner wisdom to come through your writing. Leave your inner critic at home. Relax! no red pens here, no need for perfection. Write what your heart tells you about the phrase in your own way.

I read your writing daily and offer you content-based commentary and heartfelt feedback eight times during the session. I don't edit your writing.

Payment reserves your space.

And here’s the process I will be guiding:

PROMISES TO MYSELF • 31 days of guided, personal exploration into the most important promises you make to yourself. •$289.00 •

Beginning January 11, we will be in written conversation regarding the fundamental observations needed to begin the 21 days of creating your own program of promises. We will explore the most effective model of accountability for you and put that in place. It will be different for each participant. Our 21 consecutive days of process begins January 18. The process will end February 8/9 with our shared summary statements. Because of the very independent content and personal nature of this process, I will only be enrolling a small number of participants.

This process is based on utilizing disciplined daily writing for personal development and structural shifts. If you are looking to sharpen your writing practice or to introduce writing in to your daily habit… PLEASE participate in Radmacher Focus Phrase© with Caren or Ellen.

PROMISES TO MYSELF is a process very important to me. It’s the title of my book just released and you can see some of the results of my current promise process posted on my blog at If you find the enrollment fee an inhibition…then I recommend you study the introductory statements on my blog and try the process on your own. It is worthwhile and produces exceptional personal insights and shifts. If the enrollment fee is within your means at this time – then notify me via email and I will get you registered.

I appreciate the time and attention that you give to messages from me. Thank you for reading this and I encourage you to pass it along if you think someone you know would benefit from this information.
